"Breathtaking"
The cruise was absolutely fantastic. The staff friendly and helpful. Amazing scenery and well worth the time and money. Visitors are provided with windproof jackets and binoculars to view the bird-life with. Combined with the Larnach Castle and Penguin Place tour this is the perfect day out in Dunedin. (July 2012)
"Excellent Monarch Wildlife Cruise"
We had an enjoyable cruise with Monarch Wildlife Cruises late in the afternoon in early April 2012. What an unexpectedly good trip it turned out to be. Besides the 3 diferent albatrosses we saw, there was a sea lion and seals and many, many birds. The crew were excellent with a depth of knowledge and skill in manouvring the boat in ocean swells second to none. We were taken so close to the rocky cliffs that seals were easily seen and I couldn't believe we didn't hit rocks. Outstanding! Thank you! (April 12)
"Couldn't have been any better"
We were lucky enought to be on the Monarch boat trip on the last weekend in March 2012. The morning trip hadn't seen any albatross. Sean navigated us around and spotted in the distance a 10 kilometer freeding frenzy, our journey began.
We were not disappointed, we saw all the species and loads of them. It was clearly a good find, the crew were excited. Couldn't recommend this tour more highly - we loved it! (March 12)
"Don't miss out on Monarch"
A big thank you to Monarch for a fantastic cruise - the very informative and fluent commentary and the opportunity to see albatrosses, seals, and the wealth of wildlife on the Otago Peninsula was a highlight of our holiday! (March 12)
"Don't miss this one"
Brilliant cruise, very friendly crew and ample numbers of binoculars for their guests. We saw a vast array of wildlife, sea lions, hectors dolphins, numerous sea birds and the glorious sight of an albatross taking off right near the boat. (Dec 11)
"Nearly 3 weeks ago we booked a full day wildlife tour with your company. Our tour guide for the day was Craig. We just wanted to let you know that he was outstanding. He made us feel a part of his New Zealand family, was extremely knowledgable, friendly and had a great sense of humour. So from the Sands (Rodman) family in Australia, Thank you. You made the first day of our holiday the best day of our holiday." (28 August 2010)
"My wife and I undertook your morning cruise on Tuesday November 25th. May we thank you for a super morning - despite deteriorating conditions? We really enjoyed seeing the albatrosses, the blue penguin, yellow-eyed penguins, the seals and other birdlife. Your crew were really super and the refreshments on board most welcome. We have now returned to the UK with many memories of New Zealand wildlife - and hospitality - and on both counts your excursion made a significant contribution. Many thanks, Terry Phillips" (January 09)
